How to Eliminate Bad Odours from Your Car: Complete Treatment Guide
Air fresheners hanging from the mirror cover the problem for a few days. Bad car odours — smoke, damp, mould, food — are only truly eliminated with an antibacterial treatment that attacks the source.
Where bad odours come from
- Air conditioning: the most common cause — bacteria and mould grow on the damp evaporator coils
- Fabrics and carpets: they deeply absorb smoke, food and pet odours
- Water leaks: hidden mould in seat padding or the boot
MA-FRA treatments for the interior
- MA-FRA Odorbact Out Lemon Spray — eliminates bacteria and bad odours with certified antibacterial action and an intense, long-lasting lemon fragrance
- MA-FRA Odorbact Green Forest — medical device that disinfects and deodorises; ideal for shared cars, taxis or cars with pets
- MA-FRA Ogni Volta — pocket size for a quick daily refresh of the interior
A/C system treatment
MA-FRA Odorbact Out nebulises into the interior with the A/C running and reaches the evaporator coils, eliminating mould and bacteria at the root. Also available as Odorbact Out Talc for those who prefer a neutral and discreet fragrance.
Procedure
- Start the engine and set the A/C to maximum with fresh external air (no recirculation)
- Place the Odorbact Out canister on the floor, remove the cap
- Close the doors and move away for 10 minutes
- Open and ventilate the interior: the treatment is complete
It is recommended to repeat once a year, ideally at the beginning of spring before switching the A/C on for summer.
