How to Clean and Revive Car Interior Plastics: Complete Guide
Yellowed dashboard, dull door panels, plastics with stubborn fingerprints: interior surfaces degrade slowly. They can be easily restored with the right products — but the choice depends on the type of plastic.
The different types of plastic in cars
- Soft-touch (rubbery, velvety feel): sensitive to aggressive products that dry them out and create white stains
- Piano black gloss: attracts every fingerprint, requires anti-static products
- Textured/grained: the texture traps dust in the grooves, requires a brush for deep cleaning
Deep cleaning
- MA-FRA Maniac Line Interior Cleaner Purifier — professional cleaner for plastics, faux leather, fabrics and interior glass; removes grease and fingerprints without residue
- MA-FRA Flash — dry cleaner for fabric, velvet and Alcantara; removes stains without water or rinsing
- MA-FRA Wipes Lucido / Satin — single-use wipes for quick dashboard cleaning with a gloss or satin finish
Reviving and protecting
- MA-FRA Plastic Treatment 3in1 — cleans, revives faded colour and protects in a single application; suitable for interior and exterior plastics
- MA-FRA Diamant Plast Dressing Pro 750ml — professional finish with deep wet look; nourishes plastics and creates lasting protection
- MA-FRA Maniac Line All Round Plastic Protectant — advanced UV protection and hydrophobic treatment for maximum durability
The procedure
- Vacuum the surface dust before applying any liquid product
- Clean with Interior Cleaner on a microfibre cloth — always spray onto the cloth, never directly onto the plastic
- Reach air vents and tight details with a soft brush
- Dry with a clean cloth, then apply the chosen protective treatment in a thin layer
