Iron Remover: what it is, how to use it and why it's essential for detailing
Iron Remover is one of the most powerful and underrated products in detailing. Every time you brake, the pads produce microscopic metal particles that embed themselves in the paintwork and wheel rubber, creating small orange spots that are difficult to remove with a normal wash.
How Iron Remover works
MA-FRA Fallout Iron Remover contains ammonium thioglycolate, which reacts chemically with iron. The reaction is visible: the product turns purple/red on contact with ferrous particles.
How to use it: step by step
- Wash the car as normal
- Apply to the wheel or bodywork when cold and in the shade
- Wait 3–5 minutes: the product turns purple/red
- Do not allow it to dry
- Rinse thoroughly with high-pressure water
Recommended frequency
- Wheels: every 1–2 months
- Bodywork: every 3–6 months, and always before applying wax or ceramic coating
