MA-FRA Extra Dry A0530 is a 43x32 cm ultra-absorbent synthetic drying cloth designed specifically for drying car paintwork after washing. The hybrid synthetic material — often referred to as PVA (polyvinyl alcohol) or similar — has a water absorption capacity significantly greater than traditional microfibre, allowing a full mid-size saloon to be dried in very few passes without leaving any water spots.

Extra Dry works best when slightly damp (not soaking wet or bone dry): once saturated, it releases water in a controlled way when wrung out, ready to absorb again immediately. Suitable for drying paintwork, glass and wheels without leaving hard water marks — even in areas with high mineral content water. Durable when stored correctly (in a container with a small amount of water when not in use, to maintain the material's elasticity).

  • Brand: MA-FRA
  • Format: 43x32 cm — ultra-absorbent synthetic material
  • Use: Drying of bodywork, glass and wheels after washing — removes water without leaving streaks or spots
  • Compatibility: All automotive paint finishes, glass and hard surfaces — not suitable as a wax or product applicator
  • SKU: A0530
  • Category: Detailing accessories / Car drying cloths

Slightly dampen the cloth with water before use (it should be neither bone dry nor dripping — a middle ground is optimal). Run across the bodywork in straight strokes, wringing out excess water periodically. Never rub a completely dry cloth across the paint. Store in a closed container with a little water to maintain the material's elasticity.

Is it better than microfibre for drying?

In terms of raw absorption capacity, synthetic drying cloths outperform microfibre. Microfibre is more versatile for final surfaces and finishing. For the first drying pass after washing, many detailers prefer a synthetic cloth like Extra Dry.

How should it be stored?

Store in a closed container with a little water in the bottom to keep the material elastic. If it dries out completely, Extra Dry loses its elasticity and becomes rigid — it can be recovered by re-hydrating in warm water for a few minutes.
